Beitbridge, Zimbabwe to Livingstone, Zambia cycling through Botswana

21 days on the road, 46 miles cycled daily (on average), 1 puncture per week, wild camping and beautiful scenery

Beitbridge

Beitbridge, town, southern Zimbabwe, lies near the bridge across the Limpopo river named for Alfred Beit, a British South African financier. The bridge is situated on the border with South Africa (source: Britannica).

The mighty Baobab tree!

One of many police roadblocks on this road.

Juggernaut Alley

Slightly hazardous at times, between Beitbridge and Ngundu.

An obvious combination!

Groceries and bicycle Parts... In the town of Ngundu.

The Great Enclosure

The ruins of Great Zimbabwe.

Mopane Worms

Eaten dry, not great, but not that bad.  Apparently quite nutritious!

Victoria Falls

"Water flows across the rocks, the beauty seems to make life stop!"

Crossing the Zambezi river

Botswana - Zambia border crossing.

Last leg of the journey: Zambia

I liked it so much, that 6 months after finishing it, I flew back to Livingstone, and continued for several months, to Nairobi... And eventually did another trip after that (Jordan to Tanzania), to complete the full length of Africa, from the Dead Sea to Table Mountain! 3 trips in total.
